Firewall, starring Harrison Ford, portrays Ford's character as a banking security expert forced to execute a $100 million theft when a criminal steals his identity and takes his family hostage. The criminals are speculated to have used dumpster diving techniques to garner confidential information that should have been shredded.
"I think this film will speak to individuals because identity theft is a real problem and something that consumers face everyday," says Richard Loncraine, the director of the Warner Brothers movie.
"
Firewall illustrates the devastating effects of identity theft at a time when awareness about the need to guard and protect personal information is critical," says Steve Ely, Group Executive, Personal Solutions with Equifax, a leading credit reporting company.
Ely adds, "Taking a proactive approach to credit management and knowing how to protect themselves from identity thieves should be top of mind for consumers at all times."
